The George Washington University (GW) offers degrees in different programs, among others, in Energy Engineering and Management, Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering. The university is home to nearly 100 research centers and institutes, including the GW Solar Institute. Two Nobel Prize laureates are affiliated with the university. One of the university’s most prominent graduates is Lee Kun-Hee ($19 bn), chairman of the Samsung Group. Placed 336 in the QS Top Universities Rankings 2020.

Vanderbilt University offers degrees in different programs, among others, in Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering. Research on energy and environment is conducted at the Vanderbilt Institute for Energy and Environment. Seven Nobel Prize laureates are affiliated with the university. Within the business world, Vanderbilt counts seven millionaire alumni, such as Doug Parker ($12.3 m) and Bruce Henderson ($12.7 m). Place 200 in the QS Top Universities Rankings 2020.

The Nothern Illinois Unversity offers degrees in different programs, among others, in Environmental Studies, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on Sustainable Energy. The Institute for the Environment, Sustainability & Energy fosters research about the environment and sustainability. Several businesspeople have graduated from the university, such as Jeff Aronin ($900 m) and John Sall ($4.6 bn).

Energy research is conducted at the Center for Energy Research and Technology. Several millionaires have graduated from the university, such as Janice Howroyd ($420 m).
