The university has many research centers, among which is the Clean Energy Research Center. Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey offers degrees in different programs, among others, in Environmental Sciences, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Bioenvironmental Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering. Energy research is conducted at Rutgers Energy Institute. Two alumni have been awarded Nobel prizes.
