Aenert news. Energy Exhibitions & Conferences
At the beginning of the second ten days of March, the 10th anniversary International LNG Congress will be held in Milan. This is the most important event in Europe for those involved in the transportation and storage of natural gas. The congress will bring together 380 delegates from 55 countries, making decisions along the entire value chain. The Congress is an indispensable platform for exchanging opinions between specialists, presenting new knowledge, and discussing the state of markets. Moreover, representatives of more than 220 companies will certainly have something to share with each other. The materials for the congress report that currently the share of LNG in the world market is approximately one third, but there are trends towards its increase. An important indicator of this are plans to build more than 20 new LNG terminals in Europe, as well as high demand for floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs). Such terminals make it possible to significantly expand the geography of LNG consumption markets, on the one hand, and simplify the supply of gas from offshore fields, on the other hand. Another important issue that will obviously be the subject of discussion at the congress will be the increase in the share of short-term contracts for the supply of LNG.

The traditional CERAWeek 2024 will be held in Houston from March 18 to 22. Since 1983, with the creation of Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA), its clients have annually gathered at professional conferences to discuss the future of energy. This year's CERAWeek will focus on strategies for a multi-dimensional, multi-speed and multi-fuel energy transition. More than 8,000 delegates from 85 countries will have the opportunity to hear reports from approximately 1,400 speakers. Here is just a small part of the questions that will be proposed for discussion at CERAWeek 2024:

- Energy Markets – How will supply and demand balance in a world of uncertainty?
- Policy and Geopolitics – How will growing global tensions and conflicts reshape the international order?
- Power Markets in Transition – What are the choices and challenges ahead in the face of growing power demand and testing of resilience?
- New Supply Chains for Net Zero – Where are the greatest stresses and sources of disruptions? How will the market for hydrogen develop? What will reshoring mean for energy?
- Technology and Innovation – What role will AI play? How can the deployment and scaling of new technologies be accelerated? What are the next breakthroughs? What are the changing roles for nuclear power, geothermal, mobility, CCUS, battery storage and renewables?
- Climate and Sustainability – How will decarbonization process and how will climate goals compete with priorities around economic growth, security, affordability and access? What will be the approaches to implementing the COP28 commitments?
- Minerals and Metals – Where will critical minerals and metals be sourced? How will this shape the energy transition, and future geopolitics?

The China International Petroleum & Petrochemical Technology and Equipment Exhibition 2024 (CIPPE), which will take place March 25-27 in Beijing, is a global oil and gas industry event for one of the world's largest consumers of oil and gas. Two thousand exhibitors from 18 countries and regions of the world will take part in the exhibition. It is expected that the exhibition will be visited by approximately 150,000 visitors. Among the thematic sectors of the exhibition the following stand out:

- Technology and equipment for scientific research and laboratory in petroleum & petrochemical industry
- Driving Machinery including generation set
- Technological process and equipment for oil refining
- Technology and equipment for oil and gas pipeline engineering
- Technologies and equipment for safety, environmental protection, and energy conservation
- Petrochemical production and advanced material
- Pipeline, tank car and special vehicles for oil and gas transportation
- Fire and alarm equipment, articles for industrial safety and labor protection
- Industrial explosion-proof products
- Equipment for industrial rinsing, technology and material for anti-corrosion.

Of the March events related to renewable energy, WindEurope 2024, which will take place at the beginning of the third ten days of March in Bilbao, Spain, certainly stands out. Last year was perhaps the most difficult year for the wind energy industry. Political upheavals on the world stage have had a very painful impact on the production of wind generators, significantly changing existing supply chains and requiring large costs. More than 500 exhibitors and speakers will present their works at the event. At WindEurope 2024 you can see the latest research using artificial intelligence, e.g.

AI-based models for the real-time detection of power curve performance deviations;
Comparing Blade Specialist Expertise to AI in Wind Turbine Blade Inspections.
Among other interesting topics that will be presented in Bilbao, we have taken the liberty of highlighting the following:

Birds Anti-collision solution based on an unique combination of 3D Radar technology and AI to mitigate wind farms impacts on birdlife while optimizing plants operations;
Development of a real-time detection system for ice formation in wind turbine blades using acoustic data;
Reducing the environmental impact of wind power transmission using compact transmission lines.
