Events calendar. September 2023

Aenert news. Energy Exhibitions & Conferences
After the summer months, September offers a wide range of exciting energy events around the world. Among them are two events in Mexico dedicated to the development of renewable energy in this country, as well as a number of interesting events related to various aspects of the expansion of the hydrogen industry. In addition, major events such as SPE Offshore Europe in Aberdeen, Scotland and Gastech 2023 in Singapore will take place this month, where pressing issues of hydrocarbon production and distribution will be considered.

Mexico, a country with more than 130 million people, a large territory and a diverse landscape, is very attractive for the large-scale application of modern wind and solar power generation technologies. However, the pace of commissioning of new capacities here is quite modest, despite the huge natural potential. So over the past five years, a little more than 3GW of new wind turbines have been installed in Mexico. In 2021, the share of electricity generation from wind turbines was 6.5% of the total generation in the country. The situation in the solar industry looks different. Since 2017, almost 8 GW solar photovoltaic have been installed in the country. According to a number of analytical sources, in the next five years, the average annual growth rate of the PV industry in Mexico will be about 9% due to the presence of a set of limiting factors. At the same time, the Government of Mexico sets the goal of achieving 50% electricity generation from renewable sources, which raises certain doubts.

Windpower 2023 and Intersolar Mexico 2023, which will take place on September 5-7 in the capital of the country, Mexico, will undoubtedly contribute to the development of these energy sectors. Representatives of various industry segments are expected to attend Mexico Windpower 2023, including Wind farm developers, Manufacturers and/or distributors of components and equipment for the industry, Technical service providers, Investment companies, Distribution and transmission companies, Measuring and automation companies, Research and development institutions.

The already traditional Intersolar Mexico 2023, which debuted in 2019, expects the participation of more than 300 Exhibitors and 11,000 visitors from more than 35 countries. Manufacturers, Suppliers, Distributors, Service Providers, Project Developers/EPC Contractors, System Integrators, Research Institutes, PV Equipment & Materials Manufacturers will present their products and technical solutions here.

Hydrogen technologies are currently considered as the most promising option for the transition to carbon-free energy. The expanded use of hydrogen for energy storage, industry and households essentially requires the creation of a new industry where a whole range of problems must be solved, ranging from the production, storage, transportation and use of hydrogen. For industry professionals, H2 & FC EXPO 2023, which will be held September 15-17 in Makuhari (Japan), is a must-have platform for information exchange between leading participants in this process. Since 2005, such giants as Iwatani, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Kyocera, Chiyoda, Toshiba, Toyota, Air Liquid, Linde, Air Product, General Motors, Tesla Motors, Hyundai Motors, Asia Pacific Fuel Cell and a lot others. Of the numerous applications of the exhibition, we will highlight only a few of them - Devices/Materials, Electrolytes/Ion Exchange Membranes, Electrodes/Catalysts, Separators, Power Load Equipment, Hydrogen Sensors, Manufacturing Technologies, Various Processing Technologies, Supplying Technologies, Valves/Joints, Pumps, Compressors , Blowers, Hydrogen Storage/Supply, Hydrogen Storage Tanks/Containers…

At the end of September, several more worthy events dedicated to the hydrogen industry will take place.

The Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe – “The world’s largest suppliers trade fair for hydrogen technologies, materials, components, and engineering solutions”. The exhibition will take place on September 27-28 in Bremen (Germany). This event will explore and present all aspects of the hydrogen value chain based on advanced technologies. At least 550exhibitors, more than 150 international speakers and over 10,000 attendees are expected to attend. Among the thematic areas of the hydrogen industry at this exhibition will be presented, including, Low-carbon hydrogen production, Storage solutions, Transportation and distribution, Hydrogen infrastructure, Energy conversion, Fuel cell design, development and manufacturing, Hydrogen from biomass, Hydrogen-Power and Power -to-X, Carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) and hydrogen, Proton exchange membrane (PEM) and electrolyzer technology, Stationary energy storage systems, Industrial plant technologies, Liquefaction technologies, Advanced materials and composites.

The large-scale conference Investing in Green Hydrogen 2023, which will be held in London on September 14-15, will be mainly devoted to the most important issues of investment in the hydrogen industry. Representatives from 55 countries of the world will gather here, including more than 1500 attendees, among whom there will be potential investors, project developers, bankers, financiers.

This event will be attended by many major energy companies, including BP, Shell, Chevron, Exxon Mobil, Equinor.

The hydrogen industry is gradually penetrating into the less developed regions of the world, including Africa. Evidence of this is the Hydrogen-Africa 2023 forum, which will be held at the end of September in Johannesburg (South Africa). Here, participants are offered the opportunity to assess market trends and prospects for the development of hydrogen infrastructure in African countries.
