Aenert news. Ratings
Clarivate Plc presented the Top 100 Global Innovators™ 2025 report, a list of 100 companies and research institutions among more than one million evaluated that provide innovative technologies and create new economic value.  This year's rating of Top 100 Global Innovators ranking draws particular attention to the phenomenon of the convergence of five macro forces – Sustainability, Wealth, Mobility, Connectivity and Automation – their interconnectedness means that each development trend drives the others. An example is the lithium-ion battery, which has evolved from a nascent electrochemical energy storage technology into a key element of portable devices and communications, moving later into mobility and sustainability, providing electric vehicles with compact batteries capable of supporting long-distance travel and increasingly acting as energy storage for intermittent renewable energy.
Here are the main highlights of the report:

  • The Top 100 Global Innovators 2025 come from only 11 countries – Japan, USA, Taiwan, Germany, South Korea, France, Mainland China, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Sweden and Finland.
  • The leading country of previous years Japan decreased its presence, but nevertheless continues to hold its position, with 33% of all entries in the Top 100 Global Innovators list. Five Japanese companies left the list in comparison to the previous year.
  • As last year, the USA came second with 18 entries (17 in 2024). Two US’ companies awarded Top100 Global Innovator Status for the first time – Caterpillar, a  leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, and GE Aerospace, a designer and manufacturer of jet engines and components for commercial and military aircraft.
  • Taiwan, traditionally occupying the third position, has shown an increase in performance and is represented by 13 companies (11 in 2024).
  • South Korea and Germany are represented by eight companies each. Siemens Energy, a leader in power generation, transmission, and management, has joined the Top 100 Global Innovator list this year, alongside Siemens. This recognition highlights its strong innovation legacy and establishes Siemens Energy as a significant contributor to major advancements in the energy sector.
  • France increased the number of entries from 6 to 7 including one company awarded Top100 Global Innovator Status for the first time – automotive firm FORVIA, created in 2021 from the merger of automotive technology companies Faurecia and Hella.
  • China with 6 companies is next on the list of innovators gaining one position compared to last year's ranking, and followed by and Switzerland (3) and the Netherlands (2).
  • Two countries are among the innovators, represented by one company each – Finland (Nokia) and Sweden (Ericsson).

The Electronics and computing equipment sector with 28 companies is again the most prominent contributor to the Top 100, ahead of the Semiconductors (12), Industrial systems (11), Automotive (11), Chemicals and materials (7), Aerospace and defense (6), Industrial conglomerate (6), Telecommunications (5), Energy and electrical (4), Software, media, fintech (3), Consumer goods and food (2), Pharmaceuticals (1) and Medical and biotechnology (1).
