Aenert news. Energy Exhibitions & Conferences
Among the many energy events this June, exhibitions and conferences dedicated to the development of hydrogen technology and hydrogen infrastructure stand out. In the first decade of June, the H2 Forum 2023 will take place in Berlin. It will cover all aspects of the hydrogen production chain and is expected to be attended by users of green hydrogen solutions, energy suppliers, hydrogen producers & electrolyzer manufacturers, spare parts and components for hydrogen production, storage and transportation solutions providers, countries and regions with renewable energy resources, political institutions and regulators. About 2000 executives and professionals from 94 countries, including such well-known companies as Alstom, Shell, Airbus, Thussenkrupp and Siemens, are going to participate in the Forum. Some of the most important questions the forum participants will try to answer are:

- “…European hydrogen roadmap: Towards a CO2-neutral Europe and secure energy supply?
- What is needed to accelerate the European hydrogen economy and replace oil and gas?
- How to overcome the financing challenge: Acceleration of funding and grant approvals?
- Building a European hydrogen infrastructure: Opportunities and challenges in converting the natural gas grid and storage facilities?”

A little later, the Green Hydrogen Forum & Expo 2023 will be held in Munich on May 14-16, 2023 covering topics related to Green Hydrogen, Fuell Cells and Power-to-Gas at ees Europe. For several days participants and attendees will have the opportunity to learn about a wide range of issues and solutions for the hydrogen industry, including suitable framework conditions, development of international markets and the required infrastructure, technology innovations, potential areas of cost-saving and pioneering projects. With the motto "Innovating energy storage", ees Europe will showcase innovative battery technologies and sustainable solutions for renewable energy storage, such as green hydrogen and Power-to-Gas applications. More than 85,000 visitors are expected to attend the exhibition.

At the end of June, one more important event, also devoted to hydrogen, will take place on another continent, in the American city of Houston – the Hydrogen Technology Conference & Expo. Here the participants will focus primarily on the discussion of technical and economic problems involved in the practical development of hydrogen applications, the solution of which may well become one of the main factors in the reduction of global carbon emissions. As at the above-mentioned events, the entire supply chain is to be considered, including the production of low-carbon hydrogen, its efficient storage, transportation and infrastructure, as well as the design, development and production of fuel cells. More than 110 speakers and over 950 participants will attend the conference.

The Carbon Capture Technology Expo (CCUS) conference and exhibition will be held in parallel with the hydrogen technology exhibition, a technology which should become an indispensable element in the hydrogen production technology from natural gas. No less interesting is the conference related to hydrogen fuel cells, which currently have many technical and engineering problems that hinder their large-scale application.

The traditional and world-leading solar exhibition Intersolar Europe 2023 will take place from June 13 to 16 in Munich. Manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, service providers, designers and developers from all over the world will come together to discuss the latest trends and present innovations to potential customers in the segments Photovoltaic, Solar thermal, Solar power plants etc. The most important segment of Photovoltaics will include the following elements – Solar cells and modules, Solar cells, Crystalline PV modules, Thin-film modules, Inverters, PV software, PV components, Mounting systems, installation aids, Tracking systems.

Photovoltaics are currently developing at an exceptionally high rate, with the total capacity of solar modules installed worldwide exceeding 1,000 GW at the end of 2022. For example, referring to a statement released by the organizers of the event, Installation of balcony PV systems in Germany in the first quarter of 2023 reached almost 40 MWp, an increase of more than seven times compared to the same quarter of the previous year.

More than 1,250 exhibitors from virtually every corner of the world will be participating in the upcoming Munich exhibition. Among them are the European subsidiaries of the top ten solar module manufacturers, including LONGi Green Energy Technology Company Limited, First Solar Inc.

To wrap up the extremely brief overview of upcoming energy events in June, it is impossible not to mention the Tenth Anniversary Unconventional Resources Technology Conference 2023,  which will be held in the same city, which was mentioned before, Houston, on June 20-22. This is the first live meeting of attendees since 2019. The main organizers and sponsors of the conference are Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) and Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG). There will be important and extremely interesting issues of unconventional resource production such as Applying New Operational Techniques to Improve Well Performance, High and Low Field NMR Applications and Reservoir Quality Improvement, Measuring Downhole Stress and Strain, Rock and Hydraulic Fracture Modelling I, Future of Production Forecasting: Data-Driven Models and Physics-Based Solutions I, Advances in Special Core Analysis and Core-Flood Testing, Rock and Hydraulic Fracture Modelling II, Gas EOR in Tight Unconventionals (SPE).
