Energy Exhibitions & Conferences

Events calendar. March 2022

With the Covid-19 pandemic easing and the lifting of severe restrictions, we are relaunching our Exhibitions section, which provides information on the most important global public energy events in the form of conferences, summits, exhibitions and congresses. In this regard, March looks especially compelling, as there are quite a few interesting events scheduled for this month, despite the fact that some of them have been postponed to later dates.

One of the highlights will be CERAWeek 2022, which will be held for the 40th time in Houston on March 7-11. More than 6,000 delegates from over 100 countries are expected to attend. Several hundred speakers will present their views on the state of modern energy and the prospects for its development. CERAWeek organizers emphasize that "...Meeting ambitious emissions targets while also delivering energy for a growing world economy will require new thinking, innovation and a transformation of a system that supplies the $90 trillion world economy.” Moreover, these tasks must be solved against the backdrop of the consequences of the pandemic, rising geopolitical tensions, and increasingly complex trade logistics. CERAWeek's main topics for discussion are as follows: More Energy, Lower Emissions; Competitive Landscape and Energy Transition; Geopolitics and Energy Markets; Supply Chains; Financing the Energy Future: The Capital Transition; Workforce of the Future: Fostering diversity, equity, inclusion and next generation skills.

The Oman Petroleum & Energy Show (OPES) 2022 will be held from March 21-23 at the landmark Oman Convention & Exhibition Center. More than 350 exhibitors from 30 countries are planning to participate in the event.

The list of the exhibitors includes Drilling Equipment, Deck and Hydraulic Equipment, Drilling and Heavy Lift Vessels, Communication Systems, Enhance Recovery Systems, Environmental Protection Systems, Gas Processing Systems, Storage Transmission and Distribution Service Companies and many others.

The successful experience of the Sultanate of Oman in oil and gas production is of great interest for the participants of the event, especially in the sector of extraction of heavy high-viscosity oil. In 2021, the country will produce 958.6 thousand barrels of crude oil per day and almost 1,300 Bcf of natural gas. Certainly, the country's most famous and unique industrial facility has to be mentioned in this context – the 1021 MW Miraah Solar Thermal Project, at the Amal oilfield. Here, thermal energy generated by one of the world's largest concentrating solar power facilities of the parabolic type is used for thermal enhanced oil recovery to extract heavy and viscous oil.

OPES will host an international conference under the slogan 'Shaping the Future of the Energy Industry'. Among the governing bodies and participants of OPES are the largest and most famous companies, such as Shell, BP, Eni, Baker Hughes, Total, Halliburton, Schlumberger, BASF, Sinopec, which once again emphasizes the importance of the event.

The 8th International LNG Congress 2022 is another highlight in March which will be held at the end of the month in Düsseldorf, Germany. Liquefied natural gas has taken a leading role in the storage and transportation sectors today. Escalating geopolitical tensions, especially in Europe, make this area even more important. Several new terminals are put into operation every year, and more are under planning and construction.

The congress will be attended by 360 delegates from more than 220 companies and 45 speakers will take part in plenary sessions. The largest gas companies, liquefaction and transport experts, equipment manufacturers, business owners and investors will be among the participants.

In the renewable energy sector, the first to be mentioned is the traditional Intersolar Middle East 2022 exhibition to be held in Dubai. The rapid development of solar power in Europe, the U.S. and China is continuing to progress successfully in the Middle East. More than 1200 exhibitors from 131 countries are expected to take part in the exhibition. Intersolar Middle East is part of a larger program to promote solar energy on all continents.
