Energy Exhibitions & Conferences

Events calendar. June 2022

CalgaryGasolineMuseum

The number of large-scale international energy events in Africa is noticeably lower than in Asia, America or Europe, especially in the last two years. Therefore, the upcoming Enlit Africa, with its extensive list of additional meetings scheduled for 7 - 9 June 2022 in Cape Town, South Africa, is undoubtedly highly anticipated and productive.
Among the sponsors of this event are renowned companies and organisations such as Enel Foundation, Siemens, General Electric, Sulzer. The main idea of this event is to promote access to high quality energy services for Africa's population of over one billion people and for the local industry.

Numerous conferences and knowledge hubs will provide participants with professional information on energy and water resources, market conditions and investment opportunities in Africa. Obviously, this will facilitate further cooperation among all players interested in implementing energy projects.

South Africa, traditional landscape

Specific technical proposals at the fair include Energy Storage, electrification of vehicles, renewable energy and the development of mini-grids.

The high potential of these areas of energy is very important for Africa's development. South Africa is one of Africa's most advanced countries in developing various renewable energy technologies, particularly solar energy, and generates however 80% of its electricity from fossil fuels. For most other countries on the continent, these figures look significantly worse. On the other hand, investors need professional resource information, risk assessments, an understanding of local markets, and reliable partners to realise the ambitious goals of Enlit Africa. Enlit Africa provides these opportunities.

The highlight of June in North America will undoubtedly be the Global Energy Show, which will traditionally take place in Calgary, Canada, June 7-9, 2022. More than 600 exhibiting companies from nearly every continent and more than 30,000 attendees are expected. Important subjects will be Methane Emissions Reduction, Hydrogen, Renewables, and, of course, the traditional Alberta ones, Cleaner Hydrocarbon Production, Drilling, Reservoir Engineering.

A little later, on June 20-22 the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas, will host the Unconventional Resources Technology Conference (URTeC). The event will bring together Geoscience, Exploration, and Reservoir Engineering Professionals, Scientists, Technologists, Researchers, and Technicians, Contracts and Procurement Heads and many others.

The main sponsors of the conference are the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), American the Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG). The role of unconventional fossil fuel resources is growing steadily, which inevitably requires improvement of existing oil and gas production technologies, implementation of the latest achievements from related industries, elimination of negative environmental impacts. The US has enormous and diverse unconventional resources, including shale oil & gas, kerogen oil, coal bad methane.

Here, as well as in neighbouring Canada, unique technologies for directional drilling, hydraulic fracturing and steam-assisted gravity drainage have been developed and mastered. Texas plays a special role in this process, being one of the main oil and gas producing regions. Therefore, we can expect a full-fledged practical effect from the upcoming conference.

Finally, another interesting event should be mentioned. The Electric & Hybrid Marine World Expo 2022 will take place on 21-23 June in Amsterdam. Technology elements such as Energy storage solutions, Supercapacitors, Wireless charging, Fuel cell, Permanent magnet motors will be presented there.
