Energy Exhibitions & Conferences

Events calendar. November 2022

In this short post, we'll cover some interesting energy events around the world in November.

A rather large and representative exhibition, Expo Lighting America 2022, will be held on November 8-9 in Mexico City. Here, about 1,400 exhibitors from 62 countries will present their products relating to various segments of modern lighting. Among them are Hardware, Interior Designers, Electrical Installers, Retailers, Distributors, Engineers, Infrastructure Construction Companies, Industrial Parks and many others. More than 80,000 visitors are expected to visit the exhibition.

There are various and often contradictory requirements for modern lighting, particularly energy savings, service life of devices, progressive design, and market availability. At this event, its participants will have an excellent opportunity to demonstrate all their strengths to their potential customers.

Around the same time, the 25th anniversary World Ethanol & Biofuels 2022 will take place in Brussels, where more than 400 participants from more than 50 countries and five continents will gather to discuss the burning issues of biofuels production.

Among them are such well-known companies in the energy sector as Novozymes, BASF SE, DuPont, Linde Engineering, Neste Oyj, as well as leading information agencies IHS Markit and Bloomberg.

Today, several types of liquid, gaseous and solid biofuels, primarily diesel and ethanol, are produced in many countries around the world. The leaders in this area are the United States, Brazil, Germany, Italy, and China.

The central and most important problem of diesel and ethanol production is the transition to second-generation technologies that derive biodiesel from non-edible feedstock. However, this process, which 10-15 years ago was expected to have wide prospects, has not yet received large-scale development. Still the main part of liquid biofuel is produced from feedstocks that could be used to produce food – corn, wheat, sugarcane, rapeseed, etc. Perhaps an effective solution to this particular problem, as well as other challenges of this energy sector, will be offered at this event.

More and more countries around the world, represented by both government agencies and businesses, are including offshore wind power development in their long-term programs. The Global Offshore Wind Summit (GOWS), to be held November 9-10 in Akita, Japan, will focus on the challenges in the development of this sector. Higher capital and operating costs and the associated investment risks are the main constraints here. However, clear and growing examples of substantial increases in the capacity factor and efficiency of offshore wind farms seem to be shifting these views towards a substantive interest. According to IRENA 2022 statistics, the total installed wind power capacity worldwide in 2021 was 823,484 MW, of which only 54,257 MW or about 6.6% was offshore. Just five years ago, however, that share was 3.7%. Japan, an island country with excellent wind potential, has long been slow to develop offshore wind sector, but the Sixth Strategic Energy Plan adopted late last year calls for bringing offshore wind generation capacity to 5.7GW by 2030. Obviously, the upcoming summit, which will bring together technology and equipment developers, local and international operators, developers and project owners, will be a timely guide to implementing these plans.

EV Expo and Green energy summit 2022 will be held from November 25 to 27 in Bangalore, one of the most technologically advanced cities in India. India is currently on the verge of a major renewal of many sectors of life and industry, including road transport. Electric Vehicles is undoubtedly the most suitable solution for the transportation problem in India's over-populated cities. As announced by the organizers, “the Expo & Conference EV Expo Bangalore brings to the Electric Vehicle industry the opportunity to showcase, see and understand the latest in an electric vehicle, components and services for convenience and environment-friendly transportation of passengers and goods”. Taking into account the specificity of the existing local fleet of vehicles at the upcoming exhibition, there will be separate sectors for Electric Vehicles - 2 and 3 wheels. In addition, the Electric vehicles industry here will be represented by such areas as Agricultural products, Battery manufacturers, Charging station systems, Semiconductor companies, and Electric vehicle product service providers.

The exhibition will be represented by more than 150 exhibitors, more than 5000 dealers and distributors, so the interested visitor will definitely be able to find his seller or consultant here. In addition to end users, among the visitors are expected decision makers and technical experts from industry, dealers and traders, technical institutions, certification and testing agencies, financial institutes and insurance companies.
